SEER Robotics Participates as Strategic Partner in Hong Kong Embodied Intelligence Initiative, Accelerating the Commercialization of Research Innovation

On May 18, 2026, the Hong Kong Center for Logistics Robotics (HKCLR) under InnoHK at The Chinese University of Hong Kong officially established the Hong Kong Embodied AI Lab — the first full-stack embodied AI laboratory in Hong Kong.

The laboratory is dedicated to advancing frontier technologies in embodied intelligence and robotics, while collaborating with 24 industry partners, investment institutions, and innovation enterprises to accelerate technology commercialization and industrial deployment. The initiative marks an important milestone in strengthening Hong Kong’s AI industry ecosystem and transforming research outcomes into real-world applications, further supporting Hong Kong’s ambition to become an international innovation and technology hub.

As one of the 24 strategic partners, SEER Robotics, a globally leading platform-based embodied intelligent robotics company, is actively participating in Hong Kong’s embodied AI development initiative. During the event, SEER Robotics Co-founder Ye Yangsheng represented the company in signing the partnership agreement with the laboratory.

Building an Open Platform for Embodied Intelligence Innovation

The Hong Kong Embodied AI Lab is rooted in Hong Kong while facing the global market. Closely aligned with the latest trends in AI and robotics, the laboratory aims to establish an open platform for embodied intelligence, deepen core technology research, focus on real-world deployment scenarios, and drive full-chain innovation and industrialization across the embodied AI ecosystem.

As a deep strategic partner, SEER Robotics will leverage its core strengths in integrated robotics hardware and software, intelligent control systems, and large-scale engineering deployment. Drawing on its extensive robotics data accumulation and ongoing exploration in embodied intelligent robotics, the company will support the laboratory in accelerating the transition of cutting-edge embodied AI technologies from research validation to scalable industrial applications.

Backed by long-term expertise in robot control systems, software platforms, mobile robots, embodied intelligent robots, and real-world industrial deployments, SEER Robotics will help accelerate the critical transition from laboratory innovation to practical deployment scenarios.

Showcasing Hong Kong’s Embodied AI Innovation Capabilities

During the event, multiple embodied AI and robotics innovations were showcased, including Hong Kong’s first intelligent mobile dual-arm robot platform, a lightweight millimeter-level force-controlled robotic arm, and an all-terrain quadruped robot. These demonstrations further highlighted Hong Kong’s accelerating investment in embodied intelligence, technology commercialization, and industry collaboration.

Ms. Chan Chor Ying, Assistant Commissioner for Innovation and Technology (Innovation Platform) of the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government, stated:

“The establishment of the Hong Kong Embodied AI Lab fully reflects our vision and commitment to the development of artificial intelligence and innovation technology. By connecting academia and industry while focusing on practical applications, I believe the laboratory will become an important platform for collaboration, innovation, and technology transfer, accelerating the deployment of research outcomes and generating tangible impact.”

Professor Li Zhongyu, Co-Director of the Hong Kong Embodied AI Lab, commented:

“Embodied intelligence represents both a major frontier research topic and an important carrier for the deep integration of AI with the physical world. The laboratory will focus on core technology development and real-world validation while actively deepening collaboration with research institutions, industry, and investment communities worldwide to promote technological innovation, commercialization, and industrialization.”

Professor Kam Kwok Leung, Vice-President (Education) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, noted:

“Artificial intelligence will become a key driving force for future transformation in both research and education. In recent years, CUHK has actively promoted the integration of AI into teaching and research, committed to cultivating talent with AI expertise, innovative thinking, and practical capabilities, while continuously advancing interdisciplinary education to support Hong Kong’s and the nation’s innovation and technology development.”

Professor Liu Yunhui, Director of HKCLR, added:

“As a research platform focused on AI and robotics applications, HKCLR possesses capabilities spanning from foundational research to application transformation. The establishment of the Hong Kong Embodied AI Lab aims to accelerate the transition of embodied intelligence technologies from laboratories into real-world applications and commercial deployment.”
