With the continuous expansion of business scale, the operational mode of Yihong Technology's original plant gradually struggled to keep pace with the development, facing multiple challenges: 1. Limited Production Expansion: The original plant relied entirely on manual picking and handling for the entire process, resulting in low operational efficiency, which became a bottleneck constraining capacity increase. 2. Insufficient Storage Space: The traditional warehouse layout was decentralized with low space utilization, unable to meet the storage needs for new raw materials and finished products. 3. High Labor Costs: Pure manual operations were slow to respond, labor-intensive, and prone to errors, affecting product quality and stability.

Solutions

Recently, SEER Robotics successfully implemented a comprehensive factory-wide robotic solution for a client-Yihong Technology in the PCB industry. This solution, featuring an innovative bin/pallet mixed storage design combined with an integrated storage and distribution management system covering multiple floors and areas, assists Yihong Technology in building a leading smart manufacturing factory. It achieves a comprehensive upgrade in storage space utilization, cross-floor logistics efficiency, and production operation modes.

Solution

To systematically address these issues, Yihong Technology chose to deeply cooperate with SEER Robotics, successfully implementing a customized, plant-wide intelligent upgrade solution covering the entire process from the raw material warehouse, processing workshop, to the finished product warehouse.


Based on the spatial and process characteristics of Yihong Technology's new plant, SEER Robotics selected three different types of robots based on the Nebula Platform. These robots operate collaboratively under the unified scheduling and management of the M4 Smart Logistics Management System, building a flexible, efficient, and plant-wide intelligent material handling network.


Bin Robots:
 Deployed in the third-floor raw material warehouse, responsible for raw material access and workstation replenishment, achieving automated "last meter" picking and placing at the raw material end.


Lifting Transfer Robots:
 Focus on cross-floor material transfer, autonomously using elevators to seamlessly connect the third-floor raw material warehouse with the fourth-floor production line.


Intelligent Forklifts:
 Responsible for material transfer between the first-floor finished product warehouse and the third-floor raw material warehouse, completing centralized storage and outbound of finished products, replenishing raw material warehouse inventory, and connecting the entire "raw material - production - finished product" process.



Highlights


1. Mixed Storage Design, Multiplied Space Efficiency


Addressing the pain point of insufficient storage space, the solution innovatively adopts a "upper bin + lower pallet" mixed storage design. It uses bin storage shelf dividers to achieve layered storage within the same space,
transforming the traditional separated warehouse layout model.


This design reduces construction costs while meeting the simultaneous access needs for large-volume pallets and small-batch bins. Space utilization increased by over 50%, achieving "large capacity in a small space."

Cross-Floor Multi-Robot Collaboration, Building a Global Intelligent Network


Facing the complex scheduling challenges of multiple devices and multiple floors, the M4 system demonstrated excellent collaborative scheduling and management capabilities.


To ensure efficient collaboration among the three types of robots on site, M4 provides a set of intelligent hybrid scheduling algorithms. When robot routes overlap or there are road traffic restrictions, it can adjust the travel speed of multiple robots, coordinate the passage sequence, and avoid traffic congestion or deadlock. Simultaneously, M4 fully enables connection to automated equipment within the factory, automatically completing equipment interaction tasks such as elevator calls and passing through air shower doors.


Based on this model, Yihong Technology completely phased out the manual picking and handling mode, achieving 100% automation in core logistics processes. Cross-floor material transfer time was compressed from hours to minutes, significantly improving production efficiency.



3. Full-Process Information Management and Control, Comprehensive Digital Intelligent Transformation


The M4 system supports seamless integration with the MES business system, connecting production and robot data to achieve precise matching of production plans and material scheduling, making the production rhythm more controllable.



Within one system, it accurately manages robot task status, path conditions, and various types of material information, updates and views inventory data in real-time, effectively avoids material backlog or shortage, and achieves full-process traceability from raw material inbound, production materials, to finished product outbound. This helps Yihong Technology improve overall operational efficiency by over 40%.
